Night Shadows
creeping things in the dark....
Dark slides through the window….. Cheshire cat
grins his grin Illuminating the creeping across the wall….. Edging inky murk towards the floor Inching across
the carpet….. Quick little movements Catch the corner of the peripheral range…. Instantly stills as
a direct Connection with pupils are made….. Eyes open wide Gathering the skimpy traces of Reflected light
off imagined pearls…. Blinking optics….. Careful shifts of motion…. Breath held to avoid Slightest
movement Concealing location of this prey From such perceived sinister void.. Hoping for quick passage Of long
arms that reach From the nocturnal pit…… ‘Cause common knowledge tells… Dark mixed with anything Alters
its opus…… Exposes those facets Not visible in hours of daylight….. Please hours of darkness Quickly
elapse your appointment……. Deadening chills Are taking their toll……..

Wildflower Sea
.....to simple pleasures
Wade with me Into this Wildflower
Sea, It stretches far beyond What the eye can see, Let nodding beauties bow heads in curtsies, Sway gently
upwards and brush our knees, Colored buds of yellow and red, We’ll use their petals To make our bed, Laugh
playfully While weaving flower crowns, Lie back among their Fragrant grounds, Watch puffy clouds In a sea
of blue, Whisper touches Like soft drops of dew, Heaven and earth reflect and mirror, An isle we are, At
their adjoining center.

Fear To Me
.......staying true to oneself
I’m losing my identity, Little parts and bits
of me, The same one I was, I no longer see. Raging turmoil, left to my past thee, Suppress inside all I be, Waiting,
constrained to be free. Am I my own worst enemy? Forever trapped in eternity? Can you, of future, hear my plea? Mold
me anew with your artistry~ For follow I will, what thoust decree. If I should lose my integrity, Return my being
to the briny sea.

A Fair Maidens
Fall
On vellum parchment, Greek God of old, Let nuance of deed, slip through his threshold. Took elaborate
quill, started to think, Genius whispered, stroke of pen, scratch of ink.
Life of one fair maiden, the tale revealed.
Unsuspecting, a lovely soul unsealed. Cunningly adept, crafting his own art, Her bloom and unfurling glowed from
the start.
In calligraphy style her story told. Ancient characters, like roses unfold. Beautiful swirls and
elaborate script, His skills lovingly honed on precious gift.
He took pleasures, in his ability. Years were
spent building her reality. Poised being, enjoyment, her only duty, Real verve was reflected in such beauty.
Antiquated
Gods are prone to grow bored. A charming life of one; thrown in discord, His narrative, he began to neglect, The
topic forgotten, forlorn, abject.
His interest occupied in the baring. Parchment was now laid aside, uncaring
Efforts to squander, fine time was wasted, Samples of fresher exploits soon tasted.
With no focus in the mortals’
sweet life, A sad tale unfolds of genuine strife. Once simple trials, now magnified size, Deserted she fades in
helpless demise.

Death of My Emotions
.........to numbness and becoming apathetic
Wither, shrivel, dry, No more tears to cry. Barren
baking Dust, No more righteous lust. Yearning turmoil Frenzy, No passion binding Envy. Building boiling danger, No
maddened burning anger. Terrified torturous tears, No chilling silent fears. Cruel childish singsong ditty, No
understanding pity. Tarnished stolen treasure, No amusing blissful pleasure. Lost precious feathered dove, No
devoted tender love. A distressing death of my emotions, Leaves me tense and void of notions.
